Product Description Trudy Harris began her career with Hospice in 1981, eventually becoming the president of the Hospice Foundation for Caring. This collection of more than forty true stories of Harris's patients offers readers an incredible glimpse at what lies beyond and what the living can learn from the dying. Her patients have described to her visions of angels and loved ones who have gone on before, the sounds of ethereal music, colors that did not exist on earth. She has been with hundreds of patients as they took their last breaths and knows the kinds of questions that both the dying and the loved ones they are leaving behind ask. ? What do you say to a loved one who is dying? ? What happens when we die? ? How can you make a dying friend feel safe? ? Does a dying person really see angels, hear music, or see friends and family members who have already died? Tender, heartbreaking, and eye-opening, Glimpses of Heaven offers a window into the world beyond and life after death.

Messengers who show us the way April 28, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I thank you Trudy Harris for writing this book because you are a very special messenger with a very important message for all of us. When each of the people in your book came into the world, they were blessed as God's creatures. They were surrounded by family and friends who helped prepare their entrance and their way.
And now at the end of their lives, they are preparing to be born to eternity - another entrance and another way. Your stories demonstrate very clearly how to help them along this part of the journey. Letting them fully live as they die. Surrounded by the love of family and friends and Hospice listening to their needs and concerns and helping everyone to work together emotionally, spiritually, and physically, in order to support the dying member to ease their entrance into eternity. Just as you did Trudy with your grandfather. I loved your story of your grandfather dying in his easy chair and after wards all the rest of you climbing into his bed and falling asleep. You were tired and you had all worked together for him. A job well done.
In one of your stories, the person dying said it was like moving from one room to the next. This comment reminded me of my mother's death in 1979. Being a nurse and believing in Hospice, I was able to completely hear what she wanted and support her wishes. She was amazing at the way she looked at her death. So calm and so ready. She was a very devout Catholic and ready to meet God.
She left me a wonderful legacy as your stories do for all your readers today. A lot of people are not aware of these things and this is why I am so grateful you wrote your book. This is also why I got involved with a Hospice in 1979 which eventually became Hospice of Northeast Florida. During this time, I worked with two very special pioneers and co founders, Shirley Doyle RN and Paul Brenner, a Lutheran Minister. What a great gift and legacy they gave to all of us who have since followed their foot steps to allow their Hospice efforts to grow and become the Community Hospice that it is today.
Trudy, God Bless you for being such a wonderful Hospice nurse and messenger. What a great gift the people in your book give to all of us now who will follow in their footsteps allowing us to learn and prepare our way to eternity also.

Trudy Harris instills great confidence and hope as she shares her true stories. Glimpses of Heaven: True Stories of Hope and Peace at the End of Lifes Journey Who would believe that sharing stories of death and the dying can leave one with such comfort and peace; yet Trudy's patients uplift those who will read of their journey and share in those tender and trusting moments. A great book to read--a great book to give!

Trudy Harris shares with us some of her many profound experiences while tending to the very special emotional, spiritual, and physical needs of the dying. These true stories are beautifully told in a very easy and readable form. All of us have family members, friends, and loved ones who have died, are dying, or will die. This book helps us understand the inevitable.
We all can derive some level of comfort surrounding our own mortality. Trudy Harris is obviously a truly compassionate care giver and a very special person. And, now we know she is a wonderful writer. After reading her book, I purchased several copies to give to friends and family.
Glimpses of Heaven is an important book and will truly help you and those you love.
Heavenly Message April 5, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Trudy's book helps you understand the importance of listening to the words of your loved one while they are passing from this world into Heaven. You can walk with them, hold their hand, let them know you are hearing what they say while they make this transition, and you will be richer and wiser from being able to get a glimpse of Heaven as they enter.
Trudy is truly an angel with a message everyone should receive.
