Healing After Loss:Daily Meditations for Working Through Grief July 24, 2008 This book is a daily reminder that healing takes time, but it does happen. I start my day and end my day by reading the meditation of the day and it is very uplifting, practical and very easy to relate to when one is in the process of healing and grieving after the loss of a loved one. I gave it to our daughter and she found it to be just what she needed to help her with her healing and grieving.
Healing and Comforting July 23, 2008 Healing after Loss: Daily Meditations for Working Through Grief by Martha Whitmore Hickman is very helpful after the death of a loved one. The author has experienced the loss of her daughter. My father died. Even though I feel that Martha's loss must be so much more difficult than mine, the comforting words and the thought for each day helped me to understand that grief may be experienced in many ways and it must be worked through in an individual way. I bought several copies to give to others when they experience loss. Although there is some reference to religion, the over-riding message is comfort.
Best Daily Meditation Book Ever June 23, 2008 This is the best daily meditation book I have ever used. Draws from a wide variety of traditions, and not one patronizing entry so far, after half a year.
Meditations for Healing after Loss June 18, 2008 Because I had purchased the book previously from a local Christian store, I know the product is great. I send the book to friends in need.
I appreciated the prompt response from Amazon.
This is not a Christian book June 5, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this book because one of the bad reviews said it was a Christian book. It does have a few mediocre references to the bible as well as many humanistic ideas. There is not any great biblical truth that will give someone purpose in the Christian life and lead someone to a closer walk with God. Anyone from other religions would get the same kind of comfort.
