Product Description
Not your typical boring diet book, this is a tart-tongued, no-holds-barred wakeup call to all women who want to be thin. With such blunt advice as, "Soda is liquid Satan" and "You are a total moron if you think the Atkins Diet will make you thin," it's a rallying cry for all savvy women to start eating healthy and looking radiant. Unlike standard diet books, it actually makes the reader laugh out loud with its truthful, smart-mouthed revelations. Behind all the attitude, however, there's solid guidance. Skinny Bitch espouses a healthful lifestyle that promotes whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, and encourages women to get excited about feeling "clean and pure and energized."

Just another Pro-Vegan tome July 23, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this book because it seemed like a fun read, described as a sort of irreverant look at dieting. And it was - for the first chapter or so. Then it got down to the real business of the book, which is to push a Vegan lifestyle as the only way to go. That's fine, but I really wish I'd known that before I wasted the money on the book! After it launched into the vegan stuff I just put the book away. A waste of my $$ and time.
This book changed my life July 23, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
When I saw this book at the bookstore I thought that it was just a simple diet book. I had no idea how it would change my life. I read this book all in one sitting it was so engrossing. I never planned to be a vegan, but I am proud to say that I have been one now for a month and I have no plans of stopping. Yes I had to give up many things that I loved, but I feel so much better and healthier. I could have done with out the vulgar language - that is the only negative about this book. I tell friends who ask why I went vegan that I read this book and that I only recommend reading it if you are ready for a lifestyle change. Overall I am thrilled with my lifestyle change. I have finally managed to drop the last 5 pounds that were hanging on from my second pregnancy.
Great book July 22, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Read with an open mind. I picked it up 6 months ago expecting fluff chick lit and have been a non-smoking vegan ever since.
It's a Book About Veganism July 22, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is not about dieting or being skinny, it's about veganism...period...the end. The book offers no other altneratives. They should name it "How to Be a Vegan" or "Good Meal Suggestions for Vegan Eating". This book goes beyond vegetarianism and shuns milk, eggs, yogurt, cheese, etc.
If you don't like being yelled out (there is a lot of that in this book), and you are not interested in being a vegan, then don't get this book.I should have read more into the title, but I thought the name was just a marketing ploy to get more attention. It's not. Almost the entire book is a rant w/ some source material referenced to support the author's rant.
On the plus side, for those interested in veganism, this book offers many pages of vegan product suggestions.
Great information! July 21, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great message about the vegan diet, plus all of my stomach ailments are gone since having read and applied the guidelines in the book.
