Product Description
It was supposed to be blue skies and smooth sailing for Thomas and Jackie Hawks. A retired probation officer and a stay-at-home mom, they were looking forward to entering the next phase of their golden years. Their plan: To sell their home—a 55-foot, $435,000 yacht—and start a new life on land…and spend as much time with their grandchildren as possible. The Hawks were thrilled when a young man named Skylar Deleon wanted to buy the boat for himself, his wife, and their two kids. Little did Thomas and Jackie know that this unemployed, former childhood actor and dishonorably discharged Marine had another devious plan in mind: To lure the couple out to sea, force them to sign away their life savings, throw them overboard, and leave them

Truly Sad Tale October 26, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
There are some books that need to be written by Ann Rule. This is one of them. Not that I don't think the author did a good job, but this story is one that needed to be told in great detail. Jackie and Tom Hawks are amazing people. They raised two decent young men, had lots of friends, and a zest for life. Unfortunately, they meet up with 5 waste of lives, and so the sad tale begins. Putting the book out before the trial was unfair to the reader.
The conclusion. October 21, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The culprit in this book, the murderer, the life destroyer, was found guilty of the murder of Tom and Jackie Hawks.
May that bring a little bit of peace to the family.
A great book! September 9, 2008 Another great story relating to true crime...but be warned...once reading it you might never travel on a boat again!!!
Awful story... August 11, 2008 This story was particularly awful in how these people were killed. All for money and their boat. The killers were too lazy to go out and get real jobs so they killed this couple instead. They deserve whatever they're getting in prison.

Received in great condition but wasn't impressed with this story either. I had read about it before. Sad story, though. Satisfied with seller.
