A New View of the Vietnam War May 18, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Why another book about Vietnam? Well this one is different. It tells the story not from the politics of the left or right, but from the perspective of the labor movement. It tells of the struggle of working class people who only wanted better working conditions and a chance at a better way of life. It also tells of how the American unions and other unions around the world tried to help the Vietnamese build and maintain their own unions.
This highly readable book highlights the positive efforts and details the many challenges and obstacles faced by the unions. It is a unique study of the Vietnam War from a different vantage point.
