| Editorial Reviews:
Book Description Wolverines in the Sky tells the true story of Michigan's fighter aces; fifty-six men who distinguished themselves by shooting down five or more enemy aircraft in aerial combat. Whether flying over the fields of Europe, the spanning waters of the Pacific, or the jungles of China, Korea, or Vietnam, each one of these men displayed extraordinary heroism in battle and earned a place in history as some of the finest military aviators the world has ever known. Men of action, men of courage, and most of all men of patriotism, these individuals played a key role in both the development of aviation and in the defense of our freedoms during every war of the 20th Century. Told in a collection of thrilling profiles that highlight each ace's exciting career, Wolverines in the Sky is a book not to be missed by any aviation enthusiast. AUTHOR BIO: A native of Battle Creek, Michigan, Andrew Layton has enjoyed a love for history ever since he can remember. Having studied the lives of American Fighter Aces since the age of 12, he has amassed one of the largest collections of ace-related memorabilia in the world. Layton, who attends South Side Bible Church in Battle Creek, frequently volunteers in his community and is active in the VA's Stories of Service project, having been recognized by congress for his contributions in this area. He is also an associate member of the American Fighter Aces Association and frequently lectures on various historical topics. This is his first book.
