Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
This heavily illustrated manual provides a timely, in-depth review of the art of sniping in war and anti-terrorist environments. Drawing on a vast, firsthand knowledge of sniper skills, former British Army sniper and sniper instructor Mark Spicer describes the role of the sniper in peace and in war, in reconnaissance and counter-surveillance, in cities, in vehicles, at night and by day. He presents crucial information about training and equipment, judgment and positioning, details of great relevance to professional marksmen, both military and law enforcement. This comprehensive manual will also be of interest to hunters, weapons enthusiasts, competition shooters, and paintball participants. Illustrations, diagrams, and related information throughout.

1 out of 5 stars Save Your Money and Time   August 11, 2008

I will not waist much time reviewing this book. There is almost nothing of value in the book's contents. In the entire book I found only one usefull fact to enhance my knowledge of the subject. This book is basiclly a parade of illustrations and writings as one finds in a cartoon strip. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

5 out of 5 stars Book Review   July 26, 2008
I purchased this book to expand my knowledge of snipers in general, not only did this book provide me with a valuable source of information but it has allowed me to transfer this information to my own long range shooting!

I have never used a scope when shooting a rifle. I have found this book to be very helpful.

I was truly dissapointed with this book, the title is Illustrated Manual of Sniper Skills. It isn't illustrated, just some pictures of snipers strewn about the book. Manual? A total vague overview of the obvious and there is really no information on sniping, juat a few pages, he pretty much just says to shoot for the base of the skull, duh. Unless you are totally clueless about what snipers do and how they operate then go ahead and buy it. But for the somewhat intellengent shooters out there that want to find usefull information on moa, mil-dot, range estimating, wind compesating, or just to learn anything I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. Unless you just want to boringly pass time in Iraq (no offense)!

This book is pretty amazing to me haha it has a lottt of information ranging from anti-material sniping (eg. how to disarm a tank) to where to shoot someone in order to make sure their relex doesnt kill anyone they are holding hostage. It tells you basically anything you really need to know if you have an interest in sniping. I would highly recommend this book especially for the price that amazon.com is selling it for.
