Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
After disappearing for three years, Artemis Fowl has returned to a life different from the one he had. Now he’s a big brother, and spends his days teaching his twin siblings the important things in life, such as how to properly summon a waiter at a French restaurant.

But when Artemis’s mother contracts a life-threatening illness, his world is turned upside down. The only hope for a cure lies in the brain fluid of the silky sifaka lemur. Unfortunately, the animal is extinct, due to a heartless bargain Artemis himself made as a younger boy.

Though the odds are stacked against him, Artemis is not willing to give up. With the help of his fairy friends, the young genius travels back in time to rescue the lemur and bring it to the present. But to do so, Artemis will have to defeat a maniacal poacher who has set his sights on new prey: Holly Short.

The rules of time travel are far from simple, but to save his mother, Artemis will have to break them all . . . and outsmart his most cunning adversary yet: Artemis Fowl, age ten.

5 out of 5 stars This is my favorite of the series   October 5, 2008
I've read that male writers tend to be more plot based and female writers more character based. Every time I read a book I've been noticing that this statement is true. Women writers portray more emotion in their characters and this is what makes them so interesting. Most of the Artemis Fowl books are plot based and this one is too, but there are more glimpses of internal conflict from Artemis in this book than the others. He realizes things about himself which he doesn't particularly like and this is exactly the kind of character writing I enjoy.

4 out of 5 stars Good   October 2, 2008
My son, an avid reader, is 17. He was still eager to read the next Artemis Fowl book and did so as soon as it arrived. He was not disappointed. An advanced student in a private school studying Latin and Greek, the book was good enough to satisfy him.

5 out of 5 stars Artemis Fowl - The Time Paradox   October 1, 2008
I bought this book for my 10 yr old son. It is part of the Artemis Fowl series. He finished this long book in 3 days! He coulnd't put it down! He tells me it is one of the best in the series.

2 out of 5 stars About as dull as reading a big boring science textbook!   September 25, 2008

Is this book really for teens? I mean really? I think Eoin is targeting alot more of an audience than teens..make that money honey! It's a step up from the other books..more adult humor more adult vocabulary more adult everything.
Some of the paragraphs are so technical I had to read them two or three times! It's alot like a reading a big dull science text book alot of the time! I would think this would have a teen putting the book down pretty quickly. Ease up on the scientific technical mumbo jumbo Eoin!

5 out of 5 stars Clever as always   September 20, 2008
This book was very cunning, full of twists and turns and deceptions layered over lies, as that is what will happen when messing with time. Especially when written by Eoin Colfer, so never fear purchasing this book shall not be a waste of time or money.
