Product Description
“No guts no glory” the saying goes. But how far do “guts” go in the midst of physical feats of great strength? Learn from at least a dozen Christian, Olympic gold-medal winners and Olympic contenders who tell their inspirational stories of finding God along their roads to glory. Experience the sweat and passion that goes into the making of a world-class athlete, while learning of these Christians’ ultimate goals as competitive athletes and servants of God. For sixty days, plunge into each athlete’s most personal moments at the games through each chapter’s combination of worship, praise and evangelism. Run, jump and dive into these athletic experiences that reveal the role of friendship, the necessity of hard work and that teach the concepts of dedication and sacrifice. Learn of these athletes’ preparation, pre-competition thoughts, faith and how each athlete has placed his or her dependence on God.

The Goal and the Glory June 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Never has there been a need greater than now for roll models, mentors, people just like you and me, who can show us how to overcome all of our adversities and become victorious in our goals. These are real people with moral character who show, by their everyday lives, that we can be champions also. I loved this book. Reading it made me a better person, wife, friend, and athlete. It challenged and inspired me. After reading it I accomplished the goal of a triathlon and I am 56 years old. Thank you Josh Davis for believing in yourself and allowing others to do the same. You and all of the athletes in your book are my hero's.
Awesome Source of Inspiration June 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A great read for athletes and non-athletes alike. Short stories that are very applicable. A great resource for pastors and youth pastors for short illustrations as well. This book would be a great gift for encouragement and inspiration. Its exciting to read these stories and be able to watch some of these athletes complete at the Olympics this summer!
