Editorial Reviews:

Book Description
In the early 1840s, an enterprising New Englander from Vermont moved to frontier Michigan. It was there in the Village of Almont, that he built his unique octagon home.

The octagon style, popular in the mid to late 1800s was hailed as both economically sound and aesthetically refined in its design.

Fred P. Currier was influenced by Orson Fowler's A Home for All, which outlined the advantages of the octagon form.

This book is the story of this man, his family, his home, and the town he helped to build.
