Product Description
Journeys to the end of the world, fantastic creatures, and epic battles between good and evil -- what more could any reader ask for in one book? The book that has it all is The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, written in 1949 by Clive Staples Lewis. But Lewis did not stop there. Six more books followed, and together they became known as The Chronicles of Narnia. For the past fifty years, The Chronicles of Narnia have transcended the fantasy genre to become part of the canon of classic literature. Each of the seven books is a masterpiece, drawing the reader into a land where magic meets reality, and the result is a fictional world whose scope has fascinated generations. This edition presents all seven books -- unabridged -- in one impressive volume. The books are presented here according to Lewis' preferred order, each chapter graced with an illustration by the original artist, Pauline Baynes. Deceptively simple and direct, The Chronicles of Narnia continue to captivate fans with adventures, characters, and truths that speak to readers of all ages, even fifty years after they were first published.
Amazon.com The Chronicles of Narnia, by C.S. Lewis, is one of the very few sets of books that should be read three times: in childhood, early adulthood, and late in life. In brief, four children travel repeatedly to a world in which they are far more than mere children and everything is far more than it seems. Richly told, populated with fascinating characters, perfectly realized in detail of world and pacing of plot, and profoundly allegorical, the story is infused throughout with the timeless issues of good and evil, faith and hope. This boxed set edition includes all seven volumes.

The Adventure Wtih Jesus July 19, 2008 The Chronicles of Narnia are a great way of helping children begin to understand a relationship, adventure, life and characteristics of Jesus Christ. They were written by a Christian man who knew Jesus personally and who was able to express Jesus' personality in a way children could grasp. I love the imagination he uses and the character of Aslan. I love most of all the forgiveness Edmund receives and how Aslan sacrificed himself for Edmund. A great picture of our spiritual need as a human race as a whole; our greatest need is forgiveness.
Interesting books July 15, 2008 I am learning more about Narnia besides The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrove. I already read the first book, and I am part way into the third book. I already read LWW and know what happened in that book, so I skipped it. I wanted to know the whole story of Narnia, as well as have another book series in my collection.
More wonderful than I expected! July 13, 2008 Once I started reading the first of the seven books, I COULD NOT stop reading! As I finished each book, I couldn't wait to get to the next one. There's something spellbinding about C.S. Lewis's work, and I firmly believe that it's because it was God-inspired.
I've never been one who enjoyed reading books about centaurs, fauns, and other mythological creatures; but this amazing Christian allegory kept my attention from start to finish!
The only thing I regret about reading this series is that I waited until I retired from a career as a public school teacher to read it! It makes me sad to think of the vast number of students that I could have encouraged to read it.
This, in my opinion, is a must-read for anyone who sees God as a judgmental, harsh, punishing Being. I believe that reading these seven books in the allegorical sense will help that person gain a greater understanding of the all-encompassing love that God shows for his children through Jesus Christ.
May Aslan and all of the other allegorical characters continue to instruct, entertain, and inspire readers of all ages for many decades to come!
Beautiful, practical, perfect July 10, 2008 Buying the 7 books in peaces but all together in a box is certainly the best option. There're like pocket books and you can carry the one you're reading always with you. Plus, the printing and the finishing are really beautiful. No mention the story itself, wich takes you to a hole new and pure place, if you enjoy stories like these (like the movies? you'll like the books even better. like harry potter? I bet you'll like this too). Amazon shipping was again perfect and cheap.
(Author of "Sleeping Dragon") July 9, 2008 I bought the set for my grandchildren. Before passing them on, I read the set to ensure it was safe for them to read. The bottom line is that this is a classic set and worth turning each page and reading each word. This is a set you could read to your children or read with your children enjoying each minute.
