I purchased this as a companion to Kandel's textbook, Essentials of Neural Science & Behavior, which is an invaluable resource for those studying neuroscience. This Study Guide I found to be a little too simplistic. A satisfactory performance on these Practice Problems tells you that you absorbed the "gist" of Kandel, but doesn't predict a superior performance on your neurobiology exam. Basically, this book is helpful, but not essential for your course. People shouldn't feel overly secure about their assimilation of Kandel's material based on Calabrese, et al.
