From the supplier: Michigan State University's Julian Samora Research Institute began research the social, economic, educational and political conditions in US Latino communities in 1989. The Institute initially published all of its findings on paper, but now finds it necessary to employ electronic filing to keep up with the volume of research it handles. The Institute purchased a Winchester Systems FlashDisk external RAID storage system, which includes seven 9GB disk drives. The RAID devices functions as a single disk and data is spread across several disks. If a single disk in the array fails the system continues to function without loss of data.
