I just took the MTTC-Guidance Counselor test January/2008. I found the book to be helpful and gave me a sense of what to expect. I felt preapred for the test. Upon taking the test I found that the weakness of the preparation is that it did not have information that pertained to policies and programs for Michigan. It used the Florida policies as a guide and it directs you to look a the Michigan educational polices your self. However, the book covered all of the key concepts that is on the MTTC test.
Along with this book, which I read and studied from cover to cover, I suggest that you look at the the objectives of the MTTC on Michigan.gov website it tells you exactly what you need to review and know for the test.
Combining both resources, along with giving yourself 2-3 weeks to study, you will be ready to take the test.
