Product Description There are lots of wrong ways to bring up your kids, but there are lots of right ones, too. There's no list of instructions you have to follow to the letter if you don't want your child to end up a loser. The Rules of Parenting presents the principles to follow which you can adapt to suit you and your children. Beginning with the first rule "Relax" and continuing through 100 rules, this book presents a guide to everything a parent needs to know from toddling, school, boyfriends or girlfriends, through driving lessons and college. The book begins with a section that covers the most important rules, The Rules for Staying Sane. The rest of the sections cover the some of the big questions of parenting, including the Attitude Rules, the Discipline Rules, the Sibling Rules, the School Rules, the Teenage Rules, the Crisis Rules, all the way up to the Grown-up Rules.

Great parenting tool June 26, 2008 This book has been helpful dealing with my teenager, and I am a Nanny, so its helpful to do with the different ages of kids I work with. Some parenting books are too long and too unreal..this one is great! Easy to read..too.
Promoting 100 easy to follow rules for parents June 6, 2008 Parenting - is it a natural instinct or is it learned? "The Rules of Parenting: A Personal Code for Raising Happy, Confident Children" is a guide to help those instincts or naturally gained knowledge along, promoting 100 easy to follow rules for parents to make their kids happy, the most instinctual desire of all parents. It also promotes the fact that rules, at times, are meant to be broken and that parenting is not a science, but an art. "The Rules of Parenting: A Personal Code for Raising Happy, Confident Children" is a top pick for any parent not a hundred percent sure of their abilities and for community library parenting collections.
A Delightful Approach To Parenting June 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great rules to think about and reflect on as you parent children from birth,to toddlers thru the teen years. I would recommend you read this along with Bully-Proofing Children: A Practical, Hands-On Guide to Stop Bullying which I recently finished.I think the title here may be misleading since this is really a book on parenting and empowering children to be successful. It also covers setting limits (rules),building self-esteem and teaching the important social skills of getting along, friendship, conflict resolution, dealing with feelings...in essence about raising happy and healthy kids. It's filled with detailed strategies and tips. A must read for every parent of a child school-age and before.
