Book Description There's much more to Michigan than the Motor City. With well over three thousand miles of shoreline (as many as California) and access to four of the five Great Lakes, Michigan's two peninsulas offer some of the loveliest coastal scenery anywhere. Many of the drives in Scenic Driving Michigan feature pristine beaches, stately lighthouses, and quaint little lakeside towns. Here also are drives through virgin pine forests and lush wetlands, with many opportunities to spot a surprising variety of wildlife. Scenic Driving Michigan provides detailed maps, comprehensive drive descriptions, more than forty black-and-white photographs, and information about camping, special attractions, and historic points of interest. Also included are eight pages of vivid color photos taken along selected routes.

Only small areas covered May 29, 2004 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
I returned this book. I was disappointed that it only covered small driving areas of Michigan. I thought it would cover larger areas that we could travel and see senic sites at the same time. I would not recommend it.
Tour companion for the state native & out-of-state traveler. July 31, 1999 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
Wonderfully detailed road trips useful for a state resident or visitor. My husband and I have selected our Michigan vacation stops based on the tour descriptions of natural viewpoints, towns, and shopping venues. Generally vacationing throughout the U.S., we have utilized other books in the "Scenic Driving" series and all are equally delightful! Highly recommended and worth every cent!!!
