The best lock made in it's price catagory May 29, 2008 I run a large facility. We have been using this product for 15 years. We have 30 of them in service indoors and out side at any given time. They are very secure and do protect well. They can be opened easly in total darkness. That is a feature we do use often.
We recently had a burglary attempted. With a pry bar and a hammer they could not break the lock.
It is very easy to re set the combination on these locks. It takes less than 10 seconds.
We are very happy with this product and would highly recomend it to any one with security needs.
Great May 16, 2008 I just barely got the lock but I can tell I'm going to be happy with it. I'm in the Military and going to basic soon so I'll be able to test it out more there. The lock seems extremely secure: it has two locking mechanisms-one on each end of the shackle, the solid brass body feels like its strong enough for anything.
The best combination lock, especially for outdoors. April 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had one of these for over 15 years. I used it for 5 years while Active duty navy, and it was on seabags, lockers and luggage and mistreated. I had it for another 4 years locking up the sailboat that I lived on, and then used it around the house some more. Its tough, absolutily corosion proof, but its biggest feature is that turned one way the numbers stop at 0, and when turning every number makes a positive click. This means that its very easy to securly lock it becuase your always leaving it with all zeros and most inmportantly: Unlike any other combination lock this one can be opened in the dark! You turn the numbers down, and they stop at zero, then you close your eyes and turn up each dial counting clicks. Try that with the master lock. Unfortunatly I recently lost it, now I am replacing it.
