Warranty Required? September 1, 2008 This was the second Black & Decker D2030 Auto-Off Digital Advantage Iron iron I purchased from Amazon in a seven-day period. I returned the first one because the first sentence I read in the warranty/instructions told me that the information tag had to be on the iron cord for warranty work to be done. The information tag was missing.
When I called to get a replacement iron, the replacement unit was sent promptly and the financial transaction was correctly completed.
The information tag was also missing from the second iron. Is an information tag required to be on the iron cord for warranty work to be done?
Best iron I ever had! August 31, 2008 I love this iron! It's difficult nowadays to find an iron with the weight and power to really get wrinkles out, especially with fabrics like cotton and linen. But this iron really does the job. I love the digital readout and the ready "beep" that tells you when the iron has reached the selected temperature. It is user-friendly, does a great job, and the automatic shut-off is a wonderful peace-of-mind feature for any of us who have ever left the house and then thought, "Did I shut off the iron???" (I look for this feature in any heat-producing item I buy.)
All in all, I cannot recommend this iron more highly. I'm a little leary about the reviews that said the iron only lasted them 6 months, and I'm hoping that won't be the case with mine. But for now I give it 5 stars!
Black & Decker D2030 Auto-Off Digital Advantage Iron August 31, 2008 Best Iron I have ever used! Amazon had the "best price". Why is it good? It has INCREDIBLE STEAM that never runs out. Unfortunately, I have to iron my pants and jeans. When I do, I love gushes of Steam. This baby does STEAM Wo! Also its digital control is neat. No drips, easy to fill. Love it.
The best iron I've ever owned August 31, 2008 I've had this iron for about a month now. I use it daily. It is the next generation of the iron I had before. Of course, I use the burst of steam a lot (one reason I chose it), and I like the temperature readout very much. I like that it lets me know when it is ready with a little beep. I absolutely need the automatic shutoff. I like the translucent water tank which makes it easy at a glance to know when more water is needed. But the big difference with this iron is that the steam and temperature are set separately, and that is a big plus. I can choose just how much steam I want to use on any fabric. The iron is not too heavy and not too light, handles easily. My last iron had its cord break because the ball that allows the cord to move didn't work all that well. This iron has the same set up with the cord, but so far, it seems to swivel just fine. This is truly the best iron I have owned. I expect it to last at least the 10 years that my last one did. I highly recommend this iron.
Great iron August 30, 2008 This is a very good iron. It steams alot which is really great. It heats up very quickly and then has a signal when it is ready. It also has several different heat selections. It does not have a teflon soleplate, but that has not been a problem. The iron is a little heavier than I would have liked, but I can live with it since the iron is so nice. I iron about 2 hours a week so any iron I have gets a workout, and this has been a pleasant surprise. I have had at least one Black & Decker iron before but it seems the company has really improved their product.
