Generally Good Product June 29, 2008 I bought this gas grill to replace a 25+ year old smokey joe.
This grill worked great out of the box with a disposable cylinder, but I did have a problem when using it with a 20 lb propane tank.
After following the lighting directions to the letter (opening the propane tank valve slowly, waiting a minute or so before turning the grill's regulator valve) it would not start (I must have spent a frustrating hour playing with it, reading, re-reading the instructions). I thought the adapter hose was bad so I went back to the big box store and exchanged the adapter hose. No ignition.
Then I called Weber who suggested the propane tank was bad (the support said that the tanks you get on exchanges are used and reused and abused); so I exchanged that. Still no ignition. I called Weber again who, after walking me through the connecting and lighting steps several times sent me another adapter hose which arrived after about 10 days. It still didn't work so after calling Weber again, I was sent a new regulator, which arrived after ten days. That did the trick so now, after over 4 weeks, I finally am able to use the 20 lb propane tank. I just wish the problem could've been diagnosed quicker.
Otherwise, I'm happy with the product it grills burgers, steaks, veges to perfection with no hassle over lighting coals.
We love this grill June 22, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We live in a small apartment in Brooklyn, NY with an 8x22 patio to enjoy our summer days. This grill is wonderful. It is so easy to use; we even enjoy grilled meals during the winter months. All types of foods are cooked evenly - from meat to vegetables - they all come out perfect every time. I also bought the vinyl cover and rolling cart. Both were excellent purchases!! The rolling cart is stable and the vinyl cover is heavy-duty which fits the grill perfectly. I highly recommend this grill, you won't be disappointed!
Great grill for late nignt cooking June 2, 2008 I just purchased my first Weber Q 200 Grill and I love it. Set up was very quick and easy. I did get to use my Q grill for the first time last night to cook a thick steak and it took less than 8 minutes to reach medium. Since I get home late every evening I will probably be using my Q grill for all of my late night cooking. Great grill! 5 stars +
Great Grillin' May 5, 2008 A very nice, compact grill that is easy to use, clean and store away. Perfect for grilling for 2-4 people. Has sturdy construction and reasonable surface area for a small-ish outer design. The little tray-side-flaps are a bit flimsy and I can see them breaking or cracking if the user isn't careful or if rough-housing kids are near them... They don't stay level either, which is an additional problem for heavy or breakable items. The grill itself is super though! The handle stays cool even with high-heat use and there are plenty of grill-utensil/gadget hanging hooks. Overall, a terrific grill for a very reasonable price.
A Great Grill March 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After many years of buying & using a multitude of portable grills I have to say this one is terrific. It is the first grill to cook evenly. It looks great too. It's also easy to pack in the Motorhome.
