Hedge Hog trimmer August 19, 2008
Really like the product, designed well. It's fast, and I really think the design of using a short cord out of the end, instead of plugging the extension cord directly into other models, is a great improvement.

After using various hedge trimmers for 40 years, this is SUCH an improvement, I can't believe it! It's well balanced, powerful and almost vibration free. Of course, a heavy duty extension cord of a reasonable length should be used, or else it will burn up. I'm already shopping for a shorter version for fine trimming.
 Lightweight & Easy to Use August 7, 2008
I have only used the trimmer twice, but I notice that it is lighter weight and therefore easier to use than my over ten year old B&D Trimmer whose motor stopped working.
Of course, Amazon shipped this promptly and the price was the lowest I could find.
It's nice to have the longest length electric trimmer currently available and I look forward to many years of service. It is fully capable of cutting small branches as advertised. The plug in for the electric cord is conveniently placed on a short cord length separate from the trimmer so it is easy to keep the cord out of my way.
color me b&d surprised -- very satisfied August 4, 2008
after many tools and many years of low-cost b&d disappointments, this one is a winnah! it replaces a 17" electric weedeater and cut my time in half. bar length, cutting aperture, and power are nicely matched, making this the right tool for certain trimming jobs. this was great at leveling out my 7' high, 80' long burning bush hedge; fairly easy to reach out from a stepladder for shoulder-level horizontal cuts, and very easy for vertical cuts - good handle ergonomics. it was only "good" at my forsythia hedge - too many 5/8 and 3/4 cuts on fibrous woody stems. take the 3/4" spec with a little skepticism -- rarely will most people get to approach the cut on those at perfect right angles so you may need to mentally "de-rate" the spec to 1/2 or or 9/16. even so, the trimmer's a pleasant surprise, and gets the job done. try for a price match at your local bricks+mortar store to get it today and minimize the hassle of returns.
Excellent tool July 31, 2008
I have been very happy with my B&D 24-inch hedge trimmer. It is light weight and reasonably powerful, taking down small branches as well as pruning hedges. For the money, it is first rate.
