Product Description January 1, 2005. If there is a place that symbolizes all the pageantry and tradition of college football, The Rose Bowl in Pasadena on New Years Day stands alone. The day began with two of college footballs winningest programs (Michigan #1 and Texas #3), set to meet for the first time in history. In over 100 years of college football match-ups, these two powerhouses had never met. Adding more intrigue to the occasion was the fact that The Longhorns were bucking tradition with their first-ever appearance in the Rose Bowl A more perfect script could not have been written in a setting that has seen so many classic games. At half time, the game was dead even at 14-14. The second half began with a bang as sensational quarterback, Vince Young, stung the Wolverines with a 60-yard touchdown run. Michigan stayed strong and held a 10-point lead in the third quarter. Both teams traded their best shots and it looked as Michigan would take this game with a late go ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter. However, as fate would have it, enough time remained for Texas to prove they were worthy of their first appearance in a BCS game. Driving 47-yards in 10 plays, Texas had one final chance at destiny. Dusty Mangums 37-yard field goal wobbled through the uprights as time expired, putting controversy to rest and crowning the Texas Longhorns as the 2005 Rose Bowl Champions with a final score of 38-37. This DVD contains the complete 2005 Rose Bowl Game presented by Citi, with coverage from ABC Sports, without commercial interruption, presented in fullscreen (1.33:1) digital video. I'm a Michigan fan, and I still love this game March 17, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The best Rose Bowl ever. Texas comes back to beat Michigan, and although I'm a tried and true (and GO BLUE!), Wolverine fan, this game was still awesome.
This is by far the best Rose Bowl game ever.... July 31, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Texas vs Michigan in the Rose bowl was the best Rose Bowl of them all - even the USC vs Texas Rose Bowl. Michigan several times had the game in the bag, but Vince Young turned in a performance that only few individuals can do and he was a one man wrecking team. Michigan did not have answers for him and he schooled the Michigan defense at will. On the flip side, Michigan hammered the UT defense at will as well - which only raised Youngs play. Great game !
