The Spartans trailed early in the second half, but finished the game by outscoring the Cyclones 23-5.The Spartans were led by Mateen Cleaves, who was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. Michigan State eventually moved on to defeat Florida in the final game and win the national championship.
