Product Description Victoria Clark received Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her luminous portrayal of mother Margaret Johnson in Adam Guettel's "Light in the Piazza." She delighted audiences as Smitty in the 1995 revival of "How to Succeed in Business"; made a splash in "Titanic" when she created the role of Alice Beane, a second-class passenger with first-class dreams; appeared as Penelope Pennywise in "Urinetown" and Fraulein Kost in Sam Mendes s revival of "Cabaret"; and starred as Sally Durant Plummer in the Encores! production of Stephen Sondheim's "Follies." Her debut album, FIFTEEN SECONDS OF GRACE, is a blend of Broadway standards, contemporary fare, and a few art songs -- fully orchestrated: soulful, bewitching and exhilarating.

Wow oh Wow oh Wow oh Wow October 1, 2008 How can you fault perfection? Victoria Clark, you are perfection ...I sat and watched you three times in Titanic and four times in Light in the Piazza and you brought tears to my eyes and grace to my soul and smiles to my lips...this is just an amazing CD and I feel like you have dropped by for a quiet dinner with my friends and then we gather around the piano and you just inspire and entrance us. Every breath, every syllabel...What a talent. I love Patti and Bernadette and Bette, but Victoria...you grace the stage with love and passion and thank you for this gift you have given us...You are truly amazing.
Warm, golden brilliance! June 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Victoria Clark is a vocal and musical goddess, and this cd only makes me want to hear more from her (beyond her brilliant performances on the LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA and the TITANIC cds). Some favorite moments here: the opening song, "How Can I Keep From Singing?"; "Thomas"; "Right As The Rain"; "The Red Dress"; the new Guettel song, "Life Is But a Dream"; and, despite the criticism of it from another reviewer here, "It Might Be You," which is actually a lovely song, polished to unexpected beauty by Miss Clark's rendition. If you love beautiful, intelligent and heartfelt singing along the lines of Barbara Cook, with humor and character in the right places and flawless technique put to the service of interpretation, of soulful art.
TOUCHING ON AN ULTRA LEVEL January 15, 2008 As a birthday treat to myself (I turn 50 Thursday), I went ahead and picked up the Victoria Clark CD entitled FIFTEEN SECONDS OF GRACE. OOOOOOOOHhhhhhh am I glad I did!
This is one terrific album, and I hope radio stations that cater to this type of music, like WHLI on Long Island, are giving it all the attention it deserves. Victoria mesmorized me three times during the run of "Light In The Piazza" at Lincoln Center. I was hoping she would do an album, and here it is. Great selection of songs. I've always loved the "Tootsie" theme, "It Might Be You", but Vicki's version is so wonderful, I have a new definitive version to enjoy. Each song seems like she's holding your hand and singing just to you on those ocean rocks where the photo shoot was done. Lots of great moments with "Thomas", "Departure", the classic "Something's Gotta Give" (so fast you think she'll fall over from lack of air). This is an album for just sitting and listening with a glass of wine, a nice coffee, fire place or feet up. You melt right in. Highly recommended.
Amazing Talent January 7, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
What an amazing voice! What a treat to finally have a CD that reflects the talent and personality of this Broadway star. I also love "Light in the Piazza".... her Tony winning performance.
