BNL ROCKS! December 28, 2007 Aw yeah man! An awesome concert for any BNL fan! I saw the same set when they came to Chicago! The memories of the coolest concert show were revisited! Thanks Barenaked Ladies!
Live BNL-- always a good thing December 19, 2007 A Barenaked Ladies concert is one of my favorite things in the entire world so I'm glad they were finally taped. My only complaint with this concert is that it feels highly edited. Other than that, BNL live is the best way to hear them. Smart & funny, these guys always put on a good show. Plus, kudos to them for using recycled packaging.
coolness December 16, 2007 i was at the concert, and i was intereviewed for it and got in the dvd. but besides that, its a really good dvd. my only complaint is that they took out a couple of songs and their stories and adlibs, which add so much to the show
BNL for the masses...not the fans December 10, 2007 After following BNL for many years and many concerts, I was looking forward to this DVD. I thought I might be able to use it to "spread the word" of the Barenaked Ladies. Unfortunately, it appears I was wrong. As always, BNL themselves were very good, but the energy from their live shows did not translate well to this DVD. Also, the irreverent quirkiness that makes them so fun to watch seems to have been toned down for this DVD (Angry People dance notwithstanding). They sounded somewhat nervous, which is a characteristic I have never seen in any of the more than 10 concerts I have attended. The sound, while technically DTS, was average. In many songs, the signature harmonies of BNL can not be heard at all. The DVD-Audio recordings of Maroon and E2E were significantly better. This DVD will live in my collection, although it is not likely that I will watch it very many more times. For an overall concert DVD, it is average, but for an amazing and hyper-entertaining band like BNL, it is a slight disappointment.
Fun December 8, 2007 I had the pleasure of seeing this concert live. The DVD does a super job of capturing a good concert. I have seen dozens of concerts by the Ladies and this was a good one. The group has many songs from which to choose and my only complaint with this effort was some of my favorites were missing. I plan on viewing this DVD many times.Talk to the Hand: Live in Michigan
