4 out of 5 stars NME - First For Music News   March 25, 2008
NME has a consistent track record of being the most popular weekly music magazine in the world, and for good reason. It contains a comprehensive UK gig guide covering all types of shows, exclusive interviews with the biggest names and up and coming artists, as well as top notch reviews when it comes to gigs, albums, and tracks. NME is a magazine that has maintained its youthful image throughout the years, so you don't have to worry about reading through a bunch of useless metaphors or ramblings when it comes to getting news on music. It does a great job of connecting with the audience and is just as informative as it is fun. If you happen to love British rock and the overall European music scene, NME is definitely the magazine you need because they deliver... not to mention once a year, you will receive "The Big Issue" - a very comprehensive guide to the best in music for the year, as well as the "Year In Review" issue which does a great job of recapping anything you may have missed and what's on the rise for the following year.

You may be thinking that the price may be a bit high for subscribing, but what I recommend you to do is try to find an issue of NME in your local bookstore first, or go to the website at www.nme.com. Check it out and see if it's something you deem worthwhile. If it is (and it should be), subscribe to the magazine and expect to get 52 issues of what's fresh in music.

5 out of 5 stars The Best rock n roll mag for 50 years   February 14, 2005

NME has long been setting the standard for music magazines the world over. It is ocassionally biased and always controversial, but has a knack for drawing the biggest stars in rock to it's covers, who despretely want to tell their friends they were seen in the mag. NME is always hilarious, imformative, and cutting edge; it spots the bands first that the world will be talking about next year.

As a guide to good music, few can touch NME.

5 out of 5 stars NME rules supreme   March 2, 2004

If you are into great music, whatever genre or age NME will cover it. Although it focuses mainly on new bands,(hence the title),it covers all your classic stuff aswell. Even if on the cover it looks like it's just another cheesy gossip mag it's not.
All of it's features are amusing and informative,(you will find yourself laughing outloud at least 5 times an issue, i garantee),and gives a broad view on every review. It gets all the great bands,(previous recent features include the vines, the strokes, sid viscious, the coral, kings of leon etc etc etc..), and even if you havn't heard of a single band in the whole issue within weeks you will have fallen in love with them. NME teaches you everything you need to know about music and once you have read one issue you will be hooked. So why bother getting the expensive monthly mags that are full of rubbish you won't read when you can treasure NME until it falls apart and then get a new one next week, it's the perfect mag, everyone should own it, you won't regret it. BUY THIS NOW!!!!!!!!!!

NME beats any of your crappy american magazines

4 out of 5 stars Keep in touch with the real music   November 23, 2002

NME keeps you up to date with exactly what is happening in the world of music. Unlike publications such as Rolling Stone, NME focuses on new bands (signed and un-signed). NME can make or break bands and is very aware of this (they do try to start trends a little too often).

This is a very important magazine for pop music and culture, with fifty years of history to support it. Ignore the hype and read between the lines and NME is vital reading.
