5 out of 5 stars Refreshingly different   July 16, 2008
After cancelling my Forbes subscription (mostly due to the fact that I got utterly tired of their absurd right-wing slant), I am really glad I found this diamond in the rough. Yes, they are a young magazine with a few things that lack a bit of polish, but their mix of articles, features, and insights are much more balanced than your typical business magazine and make for a great read every time.

1 out of 5 stars What's this magazine about?   April 3, 2008

I subscribed thinking this magazine was about investing. Perhaps the title "Portfolio" deceived me? I've received 3 issues and it's safe to say that this magazine is terrible. In each issue there might be one article that I find interesting the rest are poorly written and there is little in the way of a common theme.

Oh hold on..."Portfolio" might refer to the magazine as a collection of diverse articles. Yes, yes that must be it.

I subscribe to other Conde Naste magazines (Gourmet and Traveller) neither of which I find are up to snuf. I'm adding "Portfolio" to my portfolio of mags that I will not be renewing.

Save a tree don't subscribe.

5 out of 5 stars Modern Delight   January 19, 2008

In an era where magazine writing has become as dumbed down as the general media Portfolio shows that the written word is far from dead.

5 out of 5 stars Complex Topics, Easy Reading   December 27, 2007

I ordered this magazine on a whim with some airline miles that were about to expire. I didn't expect much, so I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I look forward to receiving each issue- the articles tackle complex issues, but are easy to read. The articles are original, interesting, and insightful. I subscribe to several business magazines, and this is the only one that I consistently read cover to cover. I'm here to order a gift subscription.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent writing, fresh feel   December 16, 2007

I've suscribed to many business-related magazines in the past and I can say that Portfolio is without a doubt at the top of the list. The writing style is different - more feature oriented - and the content/design of the magazine speaks for itself.
