4 out of 5 stars haven't gotten it yet   July 19, 2008
Haven't gotten this subscription yet. Apparently it takes about 6 weeks to get. We've gotten this magazine before and my girls love it. Very clean and age appropriate.

They are age appropriate for my kid. She loves it and scarfs it up when it comes in the mail.

4 out of 5 stars Well Done, Good Variety, Holds Interest   May 7, 2007

We have been getting this for nearly a year. My girl is eight and she loves the games and articles. I appreciate the humor and the fact that the puzzles are not too hard that she can't do them on her own. This has helped her reading skills and has kept her occupied for many hours. The crafts have only required my slight help in helping her to gather tools and other ingredients needed to complete them. I am taking off one star because, like the National Geographic Kids Magazine, there are just so many advertisements for this franchise. We already know about many of the other wonderful American Girls products, but I always hope to limit what my kids see (and end up wanting) so we can afford things and have to say no less. So I would rather a magazine like this have less ads and focus more on the articles and issues. I guess I am just wasting my breath and brain power in wishing for things like that in the world of today, but I remember magazines and books when I was a kid that didn't advertise so many other things, and I was perfectly content with them.

5 out of 5 stars This is a fantastic magazeen for any age.   April 27, 2007

Im twelve years old and I simply enjoy AG magazeen. I love how compared to other girls magazeens it dosn't give you tips on what you should do if a boy likes you or how you should wear your hair. It makes you feel as though you are good enogh as you are and that is how every girl should feel when they read this magazeen. I pearsnally recomend this opposed to Discovery Girls although a great magazeen, I do read it and I modeld in the issue currently out, Ag girls dosn't make you feel quit so judged so your young girls should feel good about them selves after reading this page turner magazeen.

5 out of 5 stars From a purely academic standpoint...well maybe not "purely"   April 1, 2007

I'm a magazine major in college, and I'm studying AG this semester. I actually wanted to thank you all for your great comments on Amazon- beleive it or not, they're really helpful for my research paper!
I was a huge fan of AG as a young girl, and honstly, even at 18 I'm finding that more than just researching the magazine, I'm really enjoying reading it. This is, in my opinion, the only respectable magazine left for young girls. It will never ask you to grow up too quickly or to change who you are. It will never tell you there's a certain way to act around boys, or wear your hair, or paint your lips. It doesn't insult with dribble about scandals and celebrities. AG glorifies girls. It asks their input, and really cares about the feedback (yes, I found out from interviewing the founding editor that they actually file every piece of reader mail for future reference). I urge you to get this publication for your daughters. It is truly exceptional.
