3 out of 5 stars WWE vs. ECW & WCW   August 13, 2007
6 out of 9 found this review helpful

I was excited when this angle first kicked off. I had nothin but high hopes for the dream matches soon to come. But I was disappointed with this angle for the most part. Even more disappointed when I seen some of the real talent barely pushed then just later released.

Mike Awesome & Lance Storm vs. Edge & Christian
Being that Awesome and Storm blended well together in WCW, I wasn't surprised this match would be pretty good. Especially matched up against Edge and Christian. Pretty good opener. 4/5

Nick Patrick vs. Earl Hebner
This was referee vs. referee. I didn't care for this match all. They could have added anything but this. 1/5

WWE Tag team Championship vs. WCW championship
Sean O Haire & Chuck Palumbo vs. APA
Decent match. But I expected more from these 2 teams. Especially Palumbo and O' Haire. 3/5

Cruiserweight vs. Light Heavyweight
Billy Kidman vs. X-Pac
Another good match. These two mixed very well together. One of the better ones on the card. 4/5

William Regal vs. Raven
Boring match is all I got to say. I was very disappointed with the way Raven had been used in wwe. 2/5

Big Show, Billy Gunn, & Albert vs. Kanyon, Shawn Stasiak, & Hugh Morrus
Short match. A couple of cool spots to me. Especially Big Show chokeslammin' the he11 out of everyone. 3/5

Tajiri vs. Tazz
Man I seen much better from these two. In fact this a big step down from these two. Still it was ok at best. 2.5/5

Hardcore Championship
Jeff Hardy vs. RVD
Match of the night without a doubt. These two have never disappointed from what I've ever seen. This match even left the ring for some cool spots. 5/5

Tag Team Bra & Panties
Trish Stratus & Lita vs. Stacy Keibler & Torrie Wilson
I really dont care for these matches at all on ppv. They should have kept this on RAW. They are fine though, I'll say that much. 1.5/5

The Inaugural Brawl
WWE vs. WCW& ECW
Stone Cold, Undertaker, Kane, Kurt Angle, Y2J vs. Dudleyz, Booker T, DDP, & Rhyno
Cool match that got out of control early. Brawling outside the ring. Some good wrestlin' and fightin' inside the ring. All he11 breaks loose. Then a surprise ending. You really couldn't ask for much more, except it should have been elimination. 5/5

This feud would go on to around November. It definitly did deliver some memorable matches on ppv and both raw & smackdown. Too bad they suffered so many injuries. It could have been a whole lot better.

2 out of 5 stars The Invasion Begins..   August 7, 2007

Invasion was the beginning of the storyline that revolve around WCW & ECW against the WWF. I remember how excited I was when this angle started and even though some great matches came from this angle, there were disappointments. This one was one of them.

Edge & Christian vs Mike Awesome & Lance Storm. This was a great way to start the show as both teams are truly experienced and have great chemistry among each other. I am a sucker for the work of E&C but Storm & Awesome were great here as well. Great effort by all.

WWF Referee Earl Hebner vs WCW Referee Nick Patrick w/Mick Foley as the guest referee. This was just a complete waste of time and was only added to add the fact that the storyline was about all WWF against the Alliance.

WWF Tag Team Champions A.P.A vs WCW Tag Team Champions Sean O' Haire & Chuck Pulambo. I did not understand why none of the titles were on the line if we have champions against champions. Overall, the match was fairly decent but could have been better.

WWF Light Heavyweight Champion X-Pac vs WCW Cruiserweight Champion Billy Kidman. Same as the last match, no titles on the line but this match was actually a lot better than the previous one. Although, these two would have better matches in the following weeks.

WWF Commissioner William Regal vs ECW's Raven. This was the most boring match on the card which is a shame considering Raven's legacy in ECW.

Big Show, Billy Gunn, & Albert vs Kanyon, Hugh Morris & Shawn Stasik. This was nothing more than an average filler with a few nice moves but nothing that will excite you.

Tajiri vs Tazz. These two had awesome battles in ECW but unfortunately thanks to the booking, this one is not even close in comparison.

Hardcore Champion Jeff Hardy vs Rob Van Dam. This was by far the best match on the card and a true contender for match of the year. These two athletes show incredible high flying moves that features the use of a few weapons. An instant classic that most of this show does not feature.

Bra & Panties Match: Trish Stratus & Lita vs Torrie Wilson & Stacy Keibler. Okay, I am a fan of the eye candy and everything but this little segment could have been saved for RAW.

Inaugural Brawl: Team WWF (WWF Champion Stone Cold, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Undertaker & Kane) vs Team WCW/ECW (WCW Champion Booker T, D.D.P., Rhyno & Dudley Boyz). This was a fun ten men tag team match that features some nice spots including a table spot between Rhyno & Y2J. The match features some interference from Vince and Shane McMahon; as well as a shocking ending. Overall, a great main event.

Overall, other than the main event and the RVD/Hardy match, this one is easily skip material. To me, the better events from this angle were SummerSlam, Survivor Series, No Mercy and Rebellion.

2 out of 5 stars The Beginning Of The Invasion   April 4, 2007

Before I get stated, why are most of you people writing reviews about a fantasy WWE vs. TNA event that isn't going to happen! Take that crap to a fantasy league or something but it doesn't belong here wasting space for the ACTUAL DVD REVIEWS!

Now that I got that rant out the way, this was the beginning of the WWF vs. WCW/ECW "Invasion" storyline that would consume the WWF for most of 2001. This PPV kicked it off & it actually was a good start to the storyline as we got some fantasy matchups here that people wanted to see. The only problems here were that half the PPV was filled with "filler" matches that people could really care less about and only put on here to get as much of the current "WCW" roster & old ECW alumni on the card.

Edge & Christian vs Mike Awesome & Lance Storm - This was a good opener at Awesome & Storm made a good combination in WCW while E&C were one of WWF's best (if not THE BEST) tag teams at that time. Good & fasted paced which as a good way to kick off the PPV.

WWF Referee Earl Hebner vs. WCW Referee Nick Patrick with Mick Foley as the special referee - Suppost to be a comedic match but was really just crap.

WWF Tag Team Champions APA vs WCW Tag Team Champions Sean'O Haire & Chuck Palumbo - The first of "champions vs. champions" matches but nothing really memorable here but it was a good match to watch.

WWF Light Heavyweight Champion X-Pac vs WCW Champion Billy Kidman - The match itself didn't go real long but it was an average match between the two but they would go on to have better later in the year.

William Regal vs Raven - This was a filler match that was really just there & boring for the most part.

Big Show, Albert, Billy Gunn vs Kanyon, Hugh Morris, Shawn Stasiack - Another filler match that was just there like the previous match, again nothing special here.

Tajiri vs Tazz - If your expecting the type of match they had at "Heatwave '99" then look elsewhere because you won't get it here as this was real quick & again, nothing memorable.

WWF Hardcore Champion Jeff Hardy vs RVD - It's ironic that RVD's first WWE match was against Jeff Hardy & his return match is against Hardy once again. Hardy & RVD have similar styles so this match stole the show and was one of top matches of the year. Hardcore match except they were high flyin' & everything instead of bashing each other's heads in with weapons. Great match.

Bra & Panties Match: Torrie Wilson & Stacy Keibler vs Trish Stratus & Lita - This is exactly what you would expect it to be...the T&A segment of the night.

Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kane, Undertaker, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle vs. Booker T, DDP, Dudley Boyz, Rhino - This resembled just about every other multiman main event at a PPV in which it was well paced brawl for everyone involved to get their moments along with cool spots at the end before the finish happens. A fun main event.

In the end, there were only three matches worth talking about and the match of the night is available on a better DVD worth the money you would pay for it (RVD's "One Of A Kind" DVD) so I would suggest that if you can get this cheap or used, then go head but otherwise it's passable.

5 out of 5 stars WWE-vs-TNA-vs-ECW 2   February 14, 2007

Match 1: Buried Alive Lumberjack match for NWA World Heavyweight Title- Undertaker vs Kane vs Samoa Joe vs Sandman.
Excellent match. Samoa Joe did a sleeper hold to Sandman in the grave. Undertaker and Kane took out every Lumberjack with led pipes Undertaker gave kane a last ride in the grave on the other two competitors. He then buried them alive.
Ratting 10\10 Winner and new champion Undertaker

Match 2: 15 man Royal Rumble hell in a cell match for the WWE title- John Cena vs Rhyno vs Sandman vs sabu vs Kurt Angle vs Umaga vs Finely vs King Booker vs Shawn Micheals vs HHH vs Raven vs Cristian Cage vs Scott Steiner vs Bobby Lashely vs The Rock.
The guys didn't give a damn about the rules and it turned into a falls count anywhere elimination match. Finely, Umaga, and King Booker were fighting on the stage and then Umaga shoulder blocked them. But, all three fell threw 6 flaming tabeles, covered in barbed wire and thumb tacks. DX were working together and HHH pedigreed Raven on thumbtacks threw the top of the cell and landed on Cristian Cage. Raven then pinned Cage and he was out. Rock and lashely were fighting on a twenty foot ladder that was the same hight as the cell. Lashely jumped on the cell and threw Shawn Micheals into the ladder and they fell through tables galore. HHH went down to the stage and pedigreed umaga on a chair and pinned him. Lahely also went down and powerslamed Shawn and pinned him. Finely and Booker just got up and then the little lepricon came and hit booker with a mini ladder and Finely then hit him with his special for the pin. Steiner pinned Raven because he was still knocked out. Sabu tripped Steiner, brought Kane out after he was buried alive and he set one side of the cell on fire that the rock was on and he fell, then sabu pinned him. HHH took the easy was out and stuck kanes head in the flames and he ran out. HHH then pedigreed sabu for the pin. Rhyno then pinned Sandman after a gore and then Cena F-Ued rhyno and pinned him. kurt had the ankle lock on finely for about five minutes until he tapped. Cena hit HHH with his own sledgehammer in the face and pinned him. Lashely got up fast and speared Kurt anto another flaming table for the pin. Cena then quickley F-Ued him for the win.
Rating 20\10 Winner and still champion John cena

Match 3: A 8 man Ultimate x match for the ic\ x division title- Sonjay Dutt vs Aj Styles vs Christopher Daniels vs Jeff Hardy vs Rey Mysterio vs RVD vs Tommy Dreamer vs (c) Chris Sabin.
Incredible. so much high flying action. At the end of the match. mysterio 619s Sonjay on the x. Then when Daniels was hanging on Mysterio, Aj gave him the paylay. Mysterio fell and gave Daniels a legg drop. Aj military presses him through 4 tables. When no one was looking, Jeff climbed the x and grabbed the x divison belt. Chris Sabin was up there with him and got the IC belt.
Rating 10\10 Winners Jeff Hardy and Chris Sabin.

Match 4: 8 team table elimination match for the World Tag titles. Runnerups are number one contenders- AMW vs Team Canada vs Team 3d vs Worlds Greatest tag team vs London\Kendrick vs Kevin Thorn\Elija Burk vs Cryme Tyme vs (c) Test\Hardcore Holly.
Great. Kevin Thorn gets 3d and then d-von gets Alabama slammed by Holly. Wildcat smashes storms bottle on Eric Youngs head.At the end,the two guys left, London and Shad get pushed off the ladder through 10 tables by Kane who had plenty of scars on his face.
Rating 8/10 Winner- No contest titles are vacant

Match 5: A Inferno Hell in a Cell Buried Alive Brbed wire ladder match for World Heavyweight title- Batista vs Sting vs Jeff Jarrett.
This is the deadliest match in wrestling history. To get the title, you haft to bury your opponents, climb the cell, break the middle, tell them to lower the titles and climb a ladder. This match starts off with a double attack on batista. They drag him to the grave and Jarrett Tries to push Sting in. Sting hit Jarrett with his bat he was hiding and pushed him in the grave. Then, he tried to push Batista in but he fought back all the way to the ring.Batista put Stings hand in the flames and was quickly put out. Then Jarrett comes back and leads them to the top of the cell. Batista was pushed off through a table and stingthrough Jarrett off. This match had a couple interferences by the bosses. Vince hit sting with a cendo stick and almost fell into the flames. Cornette grabs Jarretts guitar and hits Vince sohard in the head he backed up and his suit was on fire. At the end, Batista and Sting were fighting on a ladder. Jarrett put barbed wire in the grave and pushed the ladder so both of them would fall in the grave on barbed wire. Jarrett then buried them went to the ring took a twenty foot ladder, put it on the cell and got the title.
Rating 20\10

Unschedualed match: Taipei Death match\ Both competitors are hooked together by a two foot chain\loser has to wrestle crockidile. World HeavyWeight title- Jeff Jarrett vs Kane
Kane quickley starts beating jarrett with any weapon he can find (which was anything you can think of). Then, kane chokslams Jarrett on the cell for the win.
Rating 0\10 10 minutes after the match, the ring was replaced by a swamp pit and has a gator in it. Kane goes in with Jarrett so he would not run away. The next day, jarrett had thosands of cuts all over his body. Jarrett killed the crock with thumb tacks put in its mouth.
