Amazon.com Product Description This Stuhrling Delphi men's watch is an elegant and classic timepiece at a reasonable price. The 40-millimeter, surgical-grade stainless-steel, round case has a 18K rose-gold plating, and exhibits a hydraulically-stamped Guilloche, herringbone-design, skeletonized black dial. The diamond-cut hands and individually-applied Arabic numerals are also all plated in rose gold, while the face proudly displays the rose-gold-colored movement. This lustrous timepiece is protected by a Krysterna crystal, and boasts a polished rose-gold-tone, step-design bezel. This simply resplendent chronometer is showcased on a 20-millimeter black lizard-embossed, genuine French-leather padded strap, with a rose-gold-plated, stainless-steel buckle clasp. As long-lasting as it is luxuriant, this analog watch runs on a 20-jewel, mechanical automatic movement that is powered by the motion of your wrist and is water resistant to a depth of 165 feet.
Product Description If you are going to wear a mechanical timepiece why not show it off with a skeletonized dial for everyone to see? Every watch collector needs a skeleton watch in their collection, so at Stuehrling Original, we came out with the Delphi to offer something straightforward, elegant and classic at a reasonable price. And not surprisingly the Delphi has become one of our all-time best sellers and favorites among collectors! The movement is a 20-jewel mechanical automatic, a simple three hand movement with the crown offset between the two and three two oclock position. The parts of the movement have been skeletonized and hand-engraved for extra panache. The textured dial on what remains of the off-center cut-out is vintage Stuehrling Original dial-work to the point that the beauty of the dial rivals the beauty of the movement which dominates this timepiece. The step-design round case (40mm) is constructed of solid 316L surgical stainless steel and has Krysterna crystals (front and back) and with its screw-in case back, is 50 meters water resistant. The watch is mounted on a genuine black leather strap with a lizard embossed finish. The beauty and technical achievement of the Delphi far exceeds its reasonable price tag. This watch comes packaged in a Stuehrling Original watch box with a Stuehrling Original 2 year warranty card and instructions.

Exactly what I was looking for September 14, 2008 What was I looking for? An aesthetically spectacular watch that conjures up images of olde industrial London or the Sherlocke Holmes era. The purely mechanical automatic movement (in other words, no battery- unlike those "kinetic" watches which are automatic insofar as a battery being charged). This watch is gorgeous and well-constructed. Looks very elegant and has a substantial feel to it.
In terms of movement, let me preface it by saying my friend's manual automatic Omega watch (costing over a thousand dollars) needs to be adjusted back 5 minutes after a week. Also, the famed Swiss mechanical watches can lose about 30 seconds a day.
The Stuhrling Delphi- like all mechanical watches- also needs to be adjusted after a while. Mine lost about 3 minutes after 2 days. It didn't seem to be a gradual loss, as I was monitoring it pretty closely hour by hour. I woke up 2 days later, checked the watch, and it was 3 minutes behind all at once.
This is the nature of all mechanical watches. They will not be as accurate as a quartz, battery powered watch. So, if you are realistic, and you don't mind adjusting the watch after a couple of days, this watch is well worth the price. One thing to keep in mind: those retail prices upwards of $600 are inflated, so base your purchase decision on the buy price, not retail. And, as I said, it is well worth it.
just one problem September 20, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
this is a great watch, well built nice detailing.i also really like the mechanical movement thus avoiding replacing batteries. the only problem is that the hands are the same color as the background making it very difficult to see them especially in low light.
