Perfect Form factor, Awesome looks! November 18, 2008 Acer is usually known as the low end kings. This unit might be cheap but it looks like a million bucks!!! Screen is plenty big for casual browsing and basic chores. I played a few movie files across it and it was crystal clear. Sound coming out of this little guy is pretty dynamic as well.
If you are looking for a cheap kids laptop, or just a 2nd or 3rd pc this is perfect!!
A great netbook November 18, 2008 This little machine is just about perfect for anyone who travels with technology. It is lightweight, sturdy and powerful enough to run just about anything (including Second Life - if a bit jerkily) I need while I'm on the road. It's screen is a touch small for everyday use, but when all the other computers in the house are in use, it is handy to have around!

I'm in love! November 18, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought two, and have had them for about 3 weeks -- 6-cell, 160GB disk, XP. This machine is absolutely terrific. The only downside is the trackpad, which is admittedly a turkey -- I bought a little HP travel mouse that I tote around. Battery life is close to 6 hours -- I can fly from DC to Seattle and have more than an hour left at the end. (This is the first time ever that I don't think about laptop battery life.) The form factor is wonderful. The keyboard is great -- absolutely no complaints. Performance is fine. Display is nice and bright. And for $400! I'm absolutely delighted with this machine.
Best Netbook November 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am so happy I purchased this unit. This is a great model. I love my Aspire One netbook. It is so small, even lighter than a Mac Air, and has the power to run the programs I use daily. Plus 6 hours of battery life! The Amazon price is also the most competitive.
I haven't noticed any excessive fan noise, probably due to the v.3305 bios update that was preinstalled. The keyboard is in fact small, but takes only a small amount of time to get used to. I am amazed that some don't understand that this lightweight netbook doesn't have a CD/DVD drive. If you have a desktop and a home network, just share your CD drive and you can install any program you have from that disk. I installed Microsoft Office 2007 from my desktop-shared CD drive with no problems at all. You DON'T need to purchase an external drive if you already have a computer that has a CD drive.
