 A true revelation October 9, 2008
I heard about Arnel Pineda a little bit when he was first discovered, but didn't pursue the story. Then, recently, I had it presented to me as a social networking tale, and thought, "Hmmm, he really can sing. Let's check this out." I'm very glad I did. I loved Journey as a teenager, and their music has held up over the years, largely due to Steve Perry's singing and the tight work of the band, plus Neil Schon's guitar work. Schon is here in all his glory, the songs are very strong, and Pineda can really sing! It's great to hear AOR done right. The album is titled correctly. This isn't a rejuvenation -- it's a revelation.
Revelation is Evolution October 7, 2008
I have seen Journey many times since the 70's including 2006 and 2008. Without question they continue to evolve and in that process - improve. This is not the band I heard even in 2006. Arnel appears to have stimulated a rebirth of musicianship in all of the members. I attend many live concerts and Journey is one of the best live (my first concert was Led Zeppelin in 1972). Neal Schon continues to amaze. As a student of the guitar he is mesmerizing. He use the same guitar (Les Paul) for the entire concert except for one song (Lights). Most leads switch guitars all the time. My read of this is that this is all about the music in its purity - not just show. The included DVD gives some insight into the band as seen live. I have found myself listening to this album in the car, at work and at home over and over. It should be noted that the lyrics (Cain) are very good and cover areas not usually found in rock songs.
I strongly recommend this album. It is worth every penny. I hope they can continue this quality with the next album.
Best album in a while October 3, 2008
I was skeptical of Journey's comeback like some of the other people on here. Man was I wrong, Arnel may be the best singer I have ever heard. He is amazing! Especially on the DVD WOW! Chills!
I am going to see Journey tonight at Cricket Pavilion in Phoenix, AZ. Its going to be awesome!

This the best album I have purchased in a while. With all the doom and gloom that the media blankets us with daily. Journey provides a ray of hope with their music, and reminds us the most important thing is your attitude and passion for good things in life!

Some may say a band has one chance at gaining success, or one shot at the top.
Well I must say with their new front man "Arnel Pineda"
Journey stands to break that mold!!!
I just listened to "Don't Stop Believing" & "Anyway you want it"
and I have to say they blew my hat off.
It has been a very long time sense a vocalist gave me goosebumps, And I thought it would never happen again, but Arnel has proven me wrong!
P.S. (Next Day 3 Oct 2008) I just saw Dean's performance of "Mother Father"
All I have to say is DAMN THE BOY CAN SING!!! WOW I'm blown away yet again!!!!!
For Gods sake put the past behind you, and get this CD!!!
I can't wait to hear more from Journey & Arnel Pineda in the future.
I hope he will have a long Successful "Journey" with the band!!!!

I grew up listening to Journey, and loved their songs then, now with the new singer, it brings back old memories as well as creates new ones with the new songs which are awesome! I'm so glad they started recording again....thanks a million!
