Best blades I've ever owned! November 18, 2008 Sharp, sturdy, great look, outstanding price. WOW! This knife set truly is the best I've ever owned. I'm betting they'll outlast me -- I highly recommend this product.
Great Package, Great quality you would expect except... November 16, 2008 Love the knives, sharp, very nice looking great wood block, also a bonus of a cutting board. I like the fact it also comes with a sharpener. ONE thing though the scissors are on the little cheap side and thats why I gave 4 out of 5. If the scissors where a little tougher and better built I would have a 5 of 5 for them. They broke within the first month and keep forgetting to contact them for a replacement. Overall VERY HAPPY.
Good knives, not great November 11, 2008 I bought these knives in a Gold Box deal, and at first I was impressed and very happy with my purchase. Now, after less than a month, the knives have shown a propensity to rust whenever they come in contact with water. Don't even think about putting them in the dishwasher. I've washed mine entirely by hand and rust spots have shown up just from sitting in the dish rack. Yeah, its obnoxious and absurd. Otherwise they are good knives, definitely a great value for the price, but I have no idea why the stainless steel they used isn't stainless.
Cuisinart Triple Rivet cutlery set- WILL RUST November 7, 2008 I bought this set for my wife just one month ago. Overall, I like it. It was a good price for all that you get with the set.
Like the other reviews I have to agree that this set will rust if not hand washed! Two days after we first used them, my wife started seeing tiny rust spots. I would have thought the Cuisinart company would take more pride in the quality of their products. Especially since they seem to be a well known, respected name.
If not for the rust spots, I would have given this a higher grade. For the price I paid ($89.99), there really isn't any excuse for selling a product that will rust. Cuisinart should be ashamed of themselves.
Hand Washing Required October 29, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I don't usually write reviews but I was incredibly disappointed with this knife set. When I saw a Cuisinart knife set as a Gold Box deal, I didn't hesitate to buy them. I mistakenly trusted the name and was let down the first day. After washing them once after taking them out of the box they all have rust spots. I then scoured the rust off with a scouring sponge (not steel wool or anything overly harsh) which scratched the finish pretty easily. I was able to fix the scratches by scouring them again with the grain. In other words, they are unbelievably delicate. In addition, the steak knives are especially thin so you need to be careful not to bend them. If you're looking for an impressive looking but crappy gift to give someone this holiday season, this knife set is the perfect choice.
