Product Description Fusion In-Mold Microshell provides lightweight durability. 23 breezy vents keep your head cool and collected. ErgoDial fit system with Cam-lock levers provide a perfect, no-slip fit when your ventures lead you off the beaten path. Snap-in visor prevents the sun and rain from obstructing your vision.
Product Description The Bell Vela Fusion Sport Bike Helmet is constructed with a fusion in-mold microshell, which utilizes the process of bonding the helmet's microshell to its EPS foam layer, rather than forming the two separately and taping them together later, to provide a sturdier, more solid helmet. This helmet features Bell's ErgoDial fit system to deliver an easy one-hand adjustment with the press of a button and slide of the dial for a firm, snug and comfortable stability. The Vela also features a removable snap-in visor, and cam-lock levers that make it easy to adjust the straps around your ears. For your comfort, this bicycle helmet includes 23 vents that allow cool, fresh air in and warm air out. The Vela helmet comes in Bell's Universal Women's size (50-57cm), weighs 255 grams, and complies with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's safety standards for bicycle helmets. Helmet Tips--You Should Always... - Wear a helmet when you ride
- Wear your helmet low in the front to protect the forehead
- Fasten your buckle and tighten your chin strap
- Check your adjustments every time you wear your helmet
- Inspect your helmet regularly for signs of wear or damage
- Wear a helmet designed for your activity

Bell Vela Bike Helmet August 1, 2008 I returned the helmet. A woman's universal fit does not fit a woman who has a larger than normal head. It was entirely too tight. I later found a Bell helmet with a quick fix type adjustment that fits just fine. I would have kept the one I returned if it fit as I chose it for the color and design and liked it very much.
not confortable July 8, 2008 I thought the blue would be more sapphire, a deeper blue but it is definitely more of a baby blue. I could live with that but the front side strap sat too forward. It hit around my temples verses being near my ears. I couldn't live with that. I could have attempted some adjustments but I returned the item before messing with it.
Nice item! Great price! May 5, 2008 I had never wore a helmet when ridign before but know it is a necessity with our 10 month old in tow. The helmet fits wonderfully and can be easily adjusted for smaller and larger heads, and when riding keeps your head very cool.Chin strap is not to uncomfortable either.
Straps Hurt November 26, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
The helmet is very basic. One size fits all. I returned this helmet because the straps on the side and the side buckle make the straps bend sideways and rub your cheek. This is uncomfortable and other helmets don't do this...My old Bell was great, so why did they change it to a bad design ?
Great helmet, protected my head. June 26, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I had a Vela helmet and got in an accident--flipped over my handlebars, tumbled onto my head and somersaulted onto the pavement. My head was fine! I got a big bruise on my side where my handlbars jabbed into me, but despite witness reports of scraping my head against the asphalt, I had only a minor bump on my head. The helmet...is cracked like an egg, but my noggin is fine. Which is why I'm ordering a new one.
This helmet fits comfortably, I like the little adjustable dial on the back that secures the helmet to my head--it's easy to open and close but stays fitted so that my helmet can be secure on my head every time I ride without a lot of fumbling. Also, my head stays much cooler than with other helmets I've used (although, it's a helmet, so it's still hot).
My only complaint is that they no longer come in the pretty pink color I had (2005 helmet color). The magenta is...not my cup of tea, so this time I ordered the blue. I wish Bell would bring back the light pink!
