Product Description Are you ready for action? Nikon's 8x40 Action series binoculars are an excellent all-around choice. Their high magnification and wide field of view give you a clear, detailed look at faraway objects. And because they feature quality Nikon optics, they're an exceptional value, too. WP means Wide Perspective which means that at 1000 yards, you'll see a 430 feet wide field of view, nearly 60% more than other 8x binoculars. These binoculars were designed to deliver bright, distortion-free images. Precision-aligned, multi-coated lenses and anti-reflective internal surfaces minimize light loss. Eyeglass wearers can better appreciate the view, as well, thanks to the folding rubber eye cups. The Extreme feature is significant because it means that the Action 8x40 can be used under extreme weather conditions. It is nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed for total waterproof, fogproof and shockproof capability. A non-slip, rubberized exterior makes for an easy and secure grip. Nikon's rugged, high-quality construction is even backed by a 25-year warranty to ensure long-lasting performance. Don't just think about getting these. Take action! I got these for Christmas and used them for deer hunting. I am an eyeglass wearer and am very pleased that I can get a full field of view without removing my glasses. The clarity is very nice. I do not know much about binoculars, but I believe these are a great value, and the warranty is outstanding.Nikon Action 8x40 Binocular

Excellent binocular for hunting etc. Bought these for my wife and they are perfect. Weight is fine for still hunting etc. Clarity is great. A very good bargain at this store.
Finally a good pair of binocs November 28, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I found the product to be excellant in every respect. It does everything I want it to (mostly bird watching). Its easy to adjust, and the price is right. The covers over the objective lens are hard to put on is the only negetive feature. I waited a few years for a good pair of binocs and now I have them.
Great for birding November 18, 2007 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I am a long-time birder and have used several different low- to mid-priced binoculars over the past 15 years. I bought these binoculars a month ago, have taken them out on 8-9 birding trips and and have found them to be excellent in all respects.
The binoculars are sturdy and well-balanced without being unduly heavy. The optics make for a very clear, bright image in all conditions. I particularly like that they have three click-stop adjustments for the length of viewing, making it easy for people wearing glasses to get the right length. I also very much appreciate the close-focus capability: about 9 feet, which is much closer than other pairs I have used and which makes them reasonably good for watching butterflies.
I would recommend these to any birder.
