The Superstar was introduced in 1969 as the first low-top basketball shoe featuring an all-leather upper and the now-famous rubber shell toe. By the mid 70s, three-quarters of all NBA players were wearing the new shell toe shoes from Adidas, and the Superstar has been in production ever since. Truly a classic, the Superstar II features a soft tumbled leather upper, a rubber cupsole with herringbone traction design, and a die-cut EVA insert for added comfort. About Adidas
The vision of company founder Adolf Dassler has long become reality, and his corporate philosophy the guiding principle for successor generations. The idea was as simple as it was brilliant. Adi Dassler's aim was to provide every athlete with the best possible equipment. It all began in 1920, when Adi Dassler made his first shoes using the few materials available after the First World War. The Adidas name dates back to 1948, deriving from the first two syllables of Adi Dassler's first and last name. One year later, Adi Dassler registered the Three Stripes as a trademark. After a period spanning almost 70 years, the Dassler Family withdrew from the company in 1989, and the enterprise was transformed into a corporation ("Aktiengesellschaft"). French-born Robert Louis-Dreyfus was Chairman of the Executive Board from April 1993 to March 2001. It was he who initiated Adidas' flotation on the stock market in November 1995. Adidas--a name that stands for competence in all sectors of sport around the globe. Today, the Adidas product range extends from shoes, apparel and accessories for basketball, soccer, fitness and training to adventure, trail and golf.

Great classic shoes! September 1, 2008
This is my second pair of Adidas Superstars, and they are the best classic tennis shoes ever. They match pretty much everything. Although this color is getting REALLY hard to find. The only colors they have in the stores for women are crazy bright colors with patterns. These shoes are very comfy. And Amazon has a great deal on them, esp. with the free shipping. As long as I can keep finding them, I will probably always own a pair of Superstars.
Superstar Adidas Pink Gym Shoes August 15, 2008
I had been looking EVERYWHERE for these shoes and they were exactly what I wanted and had been looking for. Super comfortable and absolutely adorable! Shoes arrived sooner than I had planned which was an added bonus. I have yet to see anyone else with a pink pair. The pink is a little bit darker than it shoes in the photo, but that is what I wanted.

I purchased these for my daughter who is very particular about her sneakers. She has a narrow foot and these fit great. She loves them, very comfortable, good fit, look nice.

fast shipping, but I had to exchange the first purchase because the shoes were too small , I think those shoes have a problem with the shape , but anyway I have exchanged and I am satisfied with my new shoes , if you are thinking about get one of them just take a bigger size. they are really beautiful.

This is the sixth pair of Superstars I have purchased, and I probably will never purchase another brand or style. The arch support is phenomonal, which is surprising for a shoe that looks so flat. I wear them for both work and play and my feet are never disappointed, not to mention they are totally adorable in every color.
