    About Coleman
The Coleman Company has been creating and innovating products for recreational outdoor use since W.C. Coleman started selling gasoline-powered lanterns in 1900. Inventor of the hugely popular fold-up camp stove, Coleman developed a plastic liner for his galvanized steel coolers in 1957--the birth of the modern cooler--and the company has been improving their utility and design ever since. The array of products that bear the Coleman name now includes just about everything you might need to work or play outdoors, from tents and sleeping bags to boats, backpacks, and furniture.

5 out of 5 stars Light, strong, easy folding, comfortable chair   September 2, 2008
This is an attractive, light-weight, easy-folding chair that you can put in your trunk and pack on top of with out damaging. The chair folds flat. It is far superior in comfort and appearance to the ubiquitous red or blue nylon folding chairs that stuff into a round bag with a smaller diameter than the folded chair. The chair is comfortable, even for a large man. I am going to buy another today as I am tired of standing while my friends sit in my chair (maybe I need 4 more).

5 out of 5 stars Comfortable and Durable   August 4, 2008
These Coleman captain's chairs are the best, and most comfortable, portable chairs we have ever had. We have owned two of these chairs for almost 10 years and they are as good as new. We were glad to find them on Amazon at such a reasonable price.

5 out of 5 stars Just what I was looking for.   April 2, 2008

I can't speak for longevity since I just took them out of the box, but they are exactly what I was looking for.
I have been to several outdoor stores and all I found was the hard to get out of cheep ones that will not
work for me. I have scleroderma and getting out of any chair is a challenge. This design works for me.
It is stable and stout and well designed. I can see that rust might be a consideration at a few connection
points if you spend time at the beach, but it seems to me that a fresh water rinse and reasonable amount
of care should fix that minor problem. I'm happy to recommend this product as a full five stars.Coleman Captain's Chair (Charcoal)

    5 out of 5 stars COLEMAN CAPTAIN'S CHAIR   December 30, 2007

5 out of 5 stars Well worth the money   November 26, 2007

This chair is slightly higher than your nornal camp chair, so it is very easy to get out of (like getting up from a kitchen chair). It is VERY STURDY and comfortable. Very light weight and easy to carry, although you might want to fashion a homemade handle if you are going to carry it for any great distance. It is a great chair for the elderly or poeple who need assistance getting out of those low slung camp chairs. I actually prefer it to some of our expensive patio furniture. If you buy one, I'll gurantee you will probably be back for more.
