Not as bright as I thought it'd be May 8, 2008 I'm a big fan of LED lights.. they last forever, use less power, don't get hot, and are brighter. This flashlight, as other reviewers have mentioned, is not that bright. It can easily light your way through the darkness, or during a power outage, or in a parking garage, etc. And I guess that's what it was designed to do, as it's so small and handy. But I was expecting more. Perhaps it's just because the lighted area is so large, and not just concentrated in a little circle like the ones you see on CSI. If you know what you're getting into, you won't be disappointed. But just make sure you don't plan on using this flashlight to blind people at 20 feet or something!
add was misleading April 25, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
the add for this flashlight led me to believe that this was the original version of this flashlight. It is not the original version, it is an "updated" version, and although it is a very good flashlight, it is not the same as the original, nor does it come with a holster like the original.
A waste of money! April 16, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought 2 in january 2008, and they (both) are already damage (april 2008)only 4 months!!!!.
I have one and gave one to my wife. Both have problem with the contacts, they dont always turn on, and when they do, its like something is loose inside and the light become intermitent.
Also the light is not so bright anymore!.
I lost my money!!!!!
I am buying the Gerber, it is a save bet!!!
5 Star Flashlight for the size! December 17, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I own one of these lights, and I'm giving two more for X-Mas gifts this year. Exceptional light is produced by this little flashlight which will run for a very long time on a single AA battery -- I've yet to replace the battery in mine, and it is a standard in my suitcase when I travel. Perfect for use in a dark hotel room, or in the car when you need to read something without ruining your night vision while driving. Very useful for lighting your way in a dark area, but this isn't a spotlight that will light up the night for yards and yards. Best used at close ranges of 15 feet or less. But you'll have no trouble seeing things within that range. One disclaimer -- the newest ones being sold online today have a significantly brigher bulb, which is great, but the runtime is reported to have been cut by more than half; from 7+ hours, no problems at all, to 2 hours or less. I have not tested that yet with a newer light, so I don't know that first hand, but some of the flashlight forums have reported that, and I believe what I've read. Just keep an extra AA or two handy, and that issue goes away. For $20 or less, this is the best flashlight money can buy, in my opinion.
GREAT bedside light August 16, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is getting a bity over-priced because the LED if the older generation and isn't as bright. On the other hand, this is THE flashlight for a run to the potty or to investigate a "bump" in the night. The other LED lights out are far brighter, but when your eyes are completely night-adjusted, they're painfully bright. This is not as bright and a bit more tolerable. The size is also very handy: about the length of 2 AA's (takes 1) and only a bit wider in diameter. it's an excellent travel light. As far as "mini" flashlights go, this may not be the brightest (in fact, it's near the bottom) but it's the best thing going for a nightstand/travel flashlight...
