Amazon.com Product Description
Quality optics have never been so small. Built with BaK-4 prism glass, the multi-coated 7x power Echo pocket scope has a near focus of only 13 inches, yet still delivers a terrific view from a distance (including a 181-foot field of view at 1,000 yards). More significantly, the Echo measures a mere 1.3 by 3.3 inches--not much bigger than a cigarette lighter--helping it fit handily in a shirt pocket or hiking pack. Whether you want to spy on your pals down the street or spot a mockingbird from a distance, the Echo delivers.

Additional features include an 18mm objective lens, a 2.6mm exit pupil, and a 12mm eye relief. The Echo, which weighs only 1.8 ounces, comes with both a neck lanyard and a carrying case and is backed by a one-year warranty.

5 out of 5 stars Great little monocular for the money   April 19, 2008
I was looking for an alternative to Nikon's excellent 5X and 7X High Grade Monoculars when I found the Brunton Echo 7X18 Pocket Scope. The Nikon units go for $200+ and are worth the price for "pro-level" super-close focus, low flare, crisp images. Nikon 5x15 High Grade Monocular But for $30 the Brunton EchoBrunton Echo 7x18 Pocket Scope is a "must have" for casual field trips. The Brunton's optics are good and the 13 inch close focus works great for observing fine detail on insects, plants, etc. For long-term serious use Nikon's high end stuff is hard to beat. But for $30, Brunton's little Pocket Scope does the job quite well.

4 out of 5 stars Bruton Echo Monocular   April 7, 2008
Great product. Near focus of 18" is even better than the Sharper Image CN306 (15 feet) allows me to use it for watching those miniscule presentations - especially computer screens. Good for my motorcycle trail rides too. Bargain at $20. I bought two!

4 out of 5 stars No wonder Jack Bauer uses this!   March 29, 2008

I admit I really picked this model and brand because it is the same model as the one Jack Bauer uses on 24. Well I didn't use it to stop any terrorists, nor save the US in an epic way, but for my uses this thing is great. It's small enough to always slip into a pocket or a back pack, and the focus is crisp and clear. At night, the monocular is a little dim, it's simply too small to allow much light in. For simplicity, ease of use and quality of optics, I give this 4 stars out of 5. Great price too!

5 out of 5 stars Extending The Senses of a Non-hearing Person   February 13, 2008
I met my deaf pen pal, Braz, online. We've been friends for years. I began sending him birthday presents and Christmas gifts when he was a teenager, an ambitious creativity guy. Well, for his 21st birthday I didn't know what to get him. I thought, I love my earphones I got online, major major beauty of sound, and thought HOW CAN I ENHANCE MY FRIEND'S SENSES? Duh!? Well, his eyes work good! So, I sent this Burunton Echo 7X18 pocket scope to him, and he raves about it now. He sees things in more detain that were just on the fringe of his vision acuity zone...now his visual expertise is enhanced when and where he wants it to be using the handy scope which he keeps with him all the time. It works for hearing people too, but I wanted to put a little LIGHT on the idea for the wonderful feeling of being given a gift that was personalized in it's thoughtfulness to my friend, "Nephew" Braz...

He uses it every day. He rated it five stars.

4 out of 5 stars It's a gem   February 8, 2008
This is a gem. Because of it's capability to focus as close as 15 inches, it's my favorite companion in the museum. It's also very sharp and compact. I just love it!
