Product Description
Yaktrax have a unique, spikeless, patented coil design, unlike other products on the market. The Yaktrax Pro will instantly give you better traction, confidence and safety on packed snow or ice. Move about naturally with the same solid grip that you are accustomed to on dry surfaces. Walk or run as you normally would and experience stability on ice and snow like you have never felt before. Made with high strength, abrasion resistant 1.4 mm steel coils and heavy duty natural rubber material, the Yaktrax Pro easily conforms to the shape of your boot or shoe. With its patented SkidLock coil design, the Yaktrax Pro provides 360 degrees of traction on packed snow and ice and can be worn in temperatures as low as -41 Fahrenheit.

4 out of 5 stars Great outdoors, hazardous indoors   April 16, 2008
I bought these for my mother. She wore out one set of the less expensive model, and lost one of the second set. The less expensive models don't stay on the shoes as well, so we bought these to compare.

These certainly stay on. In fact, they stay on so well that it creates a problem. These work very well on snow and ice, but they're dangerously slippery indoors, especially on linoleum.

Since they're so hard to remove, my mother has decided that they're part of the shoe, and she carries an extra pair of slippers that she changes to as soon as she steps through the door. With the previous ones, she'd slip them off the shoe and put them in her jacket pocket.

These are much better suited to heavy and consistent use rather than occaisional emergencies.

5 out of 5 stars A dog walker's winter dream   March 27, 2008
This is my second pair of Yaktrax. I love the Pro style. The velcro strap keeps them on your boots. I lost one of the regular Yaktrax and didn't even know it until it was too late. The Yaktrax are essential on icy walks to keep you from slip slidin' away--especially it you're being towed along by a dog or two.

5 out of 5 stars Such a great invention!   March 10, 2008
These YakTrax make a HUGE difference when walking in snow and ice. I'm on crutches after hip surgery and have been able to trust my recovery to them when I am out crutching about on all the snow & ice this winter!

5 out of 5 stars yaktrax Pro   February 24, 2008

Yaktrax Pro work better on ice, and snow covered ice, than anything else I have tried. They don't slip on snow covered ice like spikes do. They are easy to put on and take off. They stay securely in place while in use.
A great product at a fair price!

5 out of 5 stars Fan-trax-tic!   February 14, 2008
I have owned a pair of these for over year during which time we've had two major ice storms as well as snow and lesser amounts of ice. The Yaktrax have held up wonderfully. The one time that I've slipped on ice it was because I had been too lazy to put them on. Lesson learned! At least two co-workers have purchased their own pair of Yaktrax after seeing mine.

No, these aren't meant to be worn INSIDE, they are for OUTSIDE use in foul weather. From the website: "The Yaktrax Walker and Yaktrax Pro are not for use on gravel, concrete or sanded roads. Avoid surfaces such as marble, tile or any non-icy, non-snowy surfaces when wearing the Yaktrax Walker or Yaktrax Pro." It takes less than two minutes to put both on and even less time to take them off or one can simply have another pair of shoes to slip into. I don't find it a "hassle" either way, especially when one considers the benefits of using Yaktrax.

I would recommend buying a size larger if you will be using these on boots. I find it a little bit of a struggle to put them on my hiking boots. If the weather is going to be bad for an extended period, I tend to just leave the Yaktrax on my boots and switch to another pair of shoes.
