Eat This, Not That June 21, 2008 Not what I expected...same-old-diet book. Interesting, words and pictures, and information that I was NOT aware of previously. Too soon to tell if it will work for me, but I'll give a go.
Fun but not exhaustive June 20, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a fun book to go through and gives an idea or two for most fast food/national chain restaurants. Sometimes it's nice to have just a few options. The problem is, if I don't want one of their top choices... I'm out of luck. No other info given. For instance, at Panera bread, they don't recommend ANY sandwiches (instead they want you to eat 1/3rd of a little pizza? Right.) Now I'm wishing I had bought the Calorie King book instead, less fun and flashy but more comprehensive. 2008 CalorieKing Calorie, Fat & Carbohydrate Counter (Calorie King) Then again, if I take this one out to lunch, it's a conversation piece - the other one just makes me a diet nerd :)
Very Surprising! June 19, 2008 There is a lot of information packed into this little book. If you eat out a lot, particularly at fast food places, this book will help you make better choices. It also is helpful when purchasing processed foods like frozen dinners.
Great Resource June 19, 2008 I found that this book is a great resource. It lists the most popular items and I would suggest getting the Calorie King counter to go along with it. It includes more restaurant information as well as ethnic foods. What I most liked about Eat This! were the alternative suggestions. Helps put things into perspective.
Good tool for eating out. June 18, 2008 I picked up this book after going to Men's Health website and viewing the Eat This section. It's a good book to keep on hand while you're eating out. The only thing I have a problem with in this book is that the author is still in the less carbs, the better mentality. Low carb diets aren't as popular as they used to be, and as someone who's on Weight Watchers, sometimes my carb intake will outnumber protein, and I have still lost weight, hence the 3 stars.
