Like Jane Austen! May 11, 2001 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
"Maureen M. McMahon is reminiscent of Jane Austen, there is gothic beauty in her writings, (she) has written a book I dare you to put down." Quoted from Iris Leach, author of Winds Of Heaven, and No Good Without You
Hooked by the first page! May 11, 2001 "Hooked by the first page, I read Shadows In The Mist at a gulp...Shadows In The Mist is a great read, lively and engrossing. Shadows In The Mist should appeal to fans of mystery and suspense touched by romance. Of special note is the author's nice turn of phrase and the appearance of a delightfully atypical psychic." Quoted from Sally Odgers, author of Night Must Always Come, Powderflash, In Search Of A Husband, Trinity Street and many more
Compared to Erle Stanley Gardner! May 11, 2001 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
"Filled with the Erle Stanley Gardner style deception that I so enjoy Shadows in the Mist is a `keep you turning the page' read. The bewilderment felt by Suzanna is something the reader can feel. Desperation, confusion and light romance fill the pages of this lively tale. McMahon's talent is evident as you are caught up in this suspense filled thriller. Highly recommended." Wonderful read! May 11, 2001 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
"I thoroughly enjoyed reading Shadows in the Mist. It was a well-crafted book with excellent characterization." Quoted from Anna Jacobs, author of Our Lizzie, Jessie, Like No Other, Lancashire Lass, the Gibson family saga and many more
Edge of your seat reading! May 11, 2001 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
"If you like books where you are on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen next, this is definitely the book to read! ...I was shocked when I actually realized who the bad guy was. I had suspicions but a 'red herring' was always thrown in my path before my suspicions were founded. I totally enjoyed this book."
