4 out of 5 stars Content good, printing left something to be desired   August 15, 2008
The book is written well and explains a lot of things in good detail. It's nice to see a book written specifically on this subject. As with anything, coin photography takes practice, but this book gets the reader off to a good start.

As for the printing, the first few pages had bad bleed-through. If I were the author, I'd be hollering a bit about that to the publisher. Other than that, great pictures and layout.

5 out of 5 stars Basic and Advanced - An Expensive Hobby   August 14, 2008
This had all the basics that I was looking for, except specific brand and model recommendations on copy stands, lenses, etc. The info on camera settings was very useful.

I can't speak to the more advanced information. Still working on the basics. Recommended for beginners, but remember: it's going to cost you a lot of money to do it right. After reading the first few chapters I added up about $1500 I could spend right away, and I already have a Canon D30!
