5 out of 5 stars Great organic recipes for your Grass!   May 28, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

I have used the recommended schedule that Jerry suggests and my grass is thick and healthy. His recipes use items that are easily found in any store or around your home and don't cost a fortune. I am looking forward to seeing how my grass will fare throughout the summer. I am sure my neighbors are quite envious and can't figure why my grass is so GREEN. :-)

5 out of 5 stars Love it!   May 16, 2008
I had this book in hardback and lent it to a friend...I never got it back.....so I got another one. It is wonderful. A great reference for lawn care. There are somethings that I don't do but I have loved all the tips and tonics that he has. They really do help my lawn.

5 out of 5 stars Green Grass Magic   March 17, 2008

I was in search of a way to take care of my gardens, grass etc. with less toxic chemicals. Jerry Baker's books were just what I was looking for. I started in the fall with dethatching and aeriating my lawn. I plan to use this book as my bible for my lawn this season. This book will take me through the summer, into winter, and then back to spring. Since I have not used the suggestions in this book for a full year, I can't testify to the results. But I am excited to give all the tonics a try.

5 out of 5 stars Much Better Organized Than His Other Books   December 2, 2007

Sometimes all of his tonics can get confusing but in this book they are well organized with an index at the back. In chapter two he lists steps one through five of what to apply when. There is a chapter for weeds which helped to me to finally figure out that what we used to call Winter Grass is Annual Bluegrass. He uses a lot of non-standard products like mouthwash and beer. In this book he explains a little bit more about why they work which I really liked. He also talks about the five grass growing regions of the country and the properties of various cool and warm season grasses. I thought he covered the western states better than in the other two books I have from him. All in all I would highly recommend.
