3 out of 5 stars Gives You Anticipation, But Nothing Much Inside For The $$$   July 20, 2002
5 out of 12 found this review helpful

I always look forward to the next issue of Tennis magazine, I am an avid tennis player. I buy it from time to time, and look through it whenever I get the chance.

Tennis magazine has some great interviews with the top players of the game, fitness tips, and some recommendations to tennis resorts. I also find the instruction segments helpful with my game.

The only problem with this magazine is it's consistency. Just like my game, it doesn't bring good results all the time. Some issues are outstanding and packed with great tennis information, while other issues have no more than a handful of interesting articles. I remember even one year ago, there was a great feature in the 'Gear' section of the magazine, where Tennis magazine would show all of the contents of a pro player's bag. For some reason, they don't have that anymore, have they run out of players?

Overall, Tennis magazine can be a 5 star magazine, and it sometimes is, but it needs to be more consistent.

5 out of 5 stars Great for Tennis Freaks like ME!!   March 28, 2002

Tennis magazine is just great. Every issue there are great pictures and stories telling about tournaments. Also it provides great tips about how to play tennis and how to hold a racquet. Chrissie's page gives full detail of some of the struggle she and other's have gone through in tennis. I rate this 5 stars because I can't wait to get the next issue and read about what is happening in the Tennis World.

4 out of 5 stars Good for players and fans alike   February 18, 2002

Tennis magazine targets tennis players, with excellent advice concerning racquets, strokes, fitness, tennis resorts, and so forth. Much of the advice comes from pro players and helpful photos are frequently included. I'm not an active player, but subscribe to Tennis for its unparalleled coverage of the pro tennis world. Each issue typically has an interview with a top player. These interviews are usually nicely detailed and well-written. They also offer extensive coverage of upcoming tournaments, especially the grand slams. For example, they proffer odds on the top players winning the slams. Finally, Tennis reviews recent winners at smaller tournaments, the pro rankings, etc. A nicely balanced magazine that should appeal to players and fans.
