In Subscription Year #13 January 6, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Our family loves this magazine! I highly recommend this magazine.
It is not cheap, but every page is color glossy. That is an asset which justifies the expense. We are a homeschooling family and have used the issues in unit studies and just for enjoyable reading.
They didn't repeat any issues until 2007 which surprised me, however, they did tack on a free year to my subscription. We were able to bless other families with our duplicate issues.
The company has been friendly when I've called them. Once was about past issues and the other was about a missing issue. I received both items quickly. I gave this subscription to my nephew and he had no problems. I was late in renewing two different years and called to make them retroactive a month later. No problems at all.
We like them well enough that we have A-Z file dividers in the filing cabinet and our years of issues are filed. We have loaned out issues to various friends/family.
My only complaints are:
*Occasional evolutionary content, although it has been used to educate our sons.
*I can't get the past issues from the early 90's.
An Informative Magazine With Great Visual Design -- For Kids January 4, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We ordered this mag sight unseen 2 years ago and have renewed since. It is thin but is packed with quality information and not ads. My husband and I like that each issue has a different theme that is so varied month-to-month. Content is not text alone. Photos, charts, and graphic timelines really make the information easy to enjoy. One month might be all about the "Solar System" or the human "Brain" and then a new issue focuses on a historical theme like "Ancient Persia." My older child, who has no interest in Disney princesses was wowed by the most recent issue titled "Kings & Queens." We read them ourselves for a quick review and keep them on the bookshelf for future reference.
no problems, nice magazine November 30, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We never had any problem with the subscription after we stopped getting the magazine. It could be because we never opened the renewal notices but we ever got any collection agency notices either... It's a beautiful magazine. We're going to start getting it again now that our daughter is a little older.
They do send to collection agency October 18, 2007 16 out of 18 found this review helpful
I have been dealing with this company for 2 years to have them remove my name from thier collection agency. NO luck..I would not recommend!
Watch out! February 24, 2007 18 out of 24 found this review helpful
The magazine does have good information, but not for a child...it's more geared to an adult. Watch out though! They like to send you notices of collection if you do not renew the magazine when your subscription is up.
